The winner this week is Tombigbee Waltz. Here is a link to five settings on the session.org
Nice playing, Mike! Thanks Barbara, but on my laptop, your links don't work. Here's a link to Mandolesseons where you can download playalong tracks, sheet music and tabs: https://www.mandolessons.com/lessons...mbigbee-waltz/ Sheet music and tabs: http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/am...gbee_waltz.htm Brian Oberlin: https://www.mandoberlin.com/lessons/...ee%20Waltz.pdf Same as with the Teardrop Waltz: it was number 1 for so long, that I already recorded my version:
Very nice CC and Mike. Is Tombigbee a town? Christian that's one ugly fish. But nice playing. Mike do you have a You Tube page ? ..I can't find it.
Thanks Ginny! Tombigbee is a river:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tombigbee_River
Very nice, Mike and Christian! Here is my version as a quartet of two mandolins, mandocello and tenor guitar, based on an arrangement by Evelyn Tiffany-Castiglioni from the second volume of her "Big Book For Mandolins", available from Amazon (NFI). Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin (x2) Suzuki MC-815 mandocello Vintage Viaten tenor guitar Martin
Very nice arrangement and playing Martin! Again, I really like the part at 0:48 where the the tenor guitar plays the melody and the mandolins do the accompaniment.
Thanks, Christian. In this instance, it's the mandocello that takes over the melody -- the tenor guitar stays on rhythm throughout and the lead mandolin drops to the bass line. Martin
It has certainly been waltz time here in the SAW group recently. Another new tune and three fine and contrasting versions from Mike, CC and Martin.
Thanks John!
