I've got an oval hole Stradolin that I believe is from the 1930's (referencing Jake Wildwood's expertise https://jakewildwood.blogspot.com/20...-mandolin.html). I can't say enough good things about it. I also have a Stradolin Jr from the early 40's, which is one of the press-ply models, and I love it as well. The oval hole has an amazing level of bass response, and tone for days. But don't take my word for it, hear it for yourself! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WH0f5SgJPwQ Anybody else come across one of the oval-hole varieties, they seem rare.
Very cool, thanks for sharing that.
Thanks for sharing. Different sounding than my oval hole. Can tell you have a better version.
