Just thought I'd share the excitement of my first factory-free mandolin purchase. I've been playing on cheap Ibanez models since I started playing three years ago. I live in Turkey, so there isn't a wide selection of mandolins available. But I'm going home for a wedding, so I'm finally making the plunge and going for a Big Muddy. Mike sent me pictures the other day and I just made the payment. It's an M-11 jumbo (mandola body) with a wide nut. I can't wait to get my hands on it: Looks like I might not be able to embed the image. So here's a link, in case you want to take a look.
Congrats on your new mando. Mike is a great guy to do business with and a genuinely nice person. I first met Mike about 25 years ago when he lived in Moscow, Idaho and gave lessons at Guitar's Friend. I have a Mid-Mo MO-W from 2009 that is a fine sounding mandolin. I hope you like it. Safe travels to you! Sam
Looks great. I wonder what the larger body will sound like. More resonance? More bass? Louder? Just curious.
