Hi. Any suggestions how to care for and sometimes clean a varnish finish?

Also, any string / peg winders that are mandolin-specific?

    Thanks and best wishes,

Varnish will remain soft for a long while. If you can allow it to air out while not being played it may help. Keep out of heat and humidity until fully cured. I played mine at festivals immediately after recieving it and the finish paid the price. Everywhere it touched my body it checked. A tone gaurd will help keep it away from your body but will leave markes where it touches the rubber mounts. You can tell if it is cured by the smell when you open the case. I am not particularly a fan of varnish finish, I don't think it improves the sound enough to warrant it. I had a laquer finished Gibson before my Poe and it sounded great. The Poe is definately getting the distressed look from the soft varnish. But still love it!
