moving bridge

I bought a Phoenix Bluegrass in 2007. A friend asked, only half kidding, how I handle the instrument being such a 'chick magnet'. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it.

I got the music store to move the bridge a few millimeters when I bought it. Do you expect that to be necessary every year?

If the bridge is in the correct spot for intonation, the only movement necessary is straightening it up when lots of tuning pulls the top of the bridge toward the fingerboard. This happens when you install new strings or do lots of tuning with older ones. It takes both force and finesse to straighten the bridge without moving it out of position, but it is very important to do that with any mandolin to get good contact between the bridge and the top. Sorry I can't help with the "chick magnet" problem.
