It's not in Illinois but across the river in Muscatine, Iowa every Monday night from 7 until 9 there's a Old Time music session. It's actually been going on for several years down in Muscatine at various locations and is now at the Pizza Ranch on the north end of town. If ever in the area, you're a picker, got an instrument with ya, drop in. As with any session you never know who or how many will be in attendance. I've made it once and intend to attend much more. Dave Mehaffey, Chris Clark, and Chris (I've forgotten his last name), a dulcimer builder are pretty much the leaders of the session. It's a good session with enough playing to satiate the old timey music hunger!
