This was sent out by Gene Rubin last week: -- Come join us for our monthly jam workshop with professional musician Phil Salazar as your leader. Phil will go over when to take a lead, how to play backup, and how to not be a “jam buster”. During the 2 hour workshop, you’ll have ample time to actually play backup and take several leads. We will use four tunes, chosen in advance, by you, the participants. You will have plenty of time to ask questions and get some personal pointers from Phil. This workshop is perfect for beginner through intermediate players. All types of bluegrass instruments are welcome. We have had quite a decent turnout at the workshops, people really enjoy themselves and come back again and again! Cost is $25, payable at the workshop. Takes place at Zoey’s Cafe 451 E.
