I believe there's a mandolin session starting up at the River Music Experience in downtown Davenport, Iowa (across the river from Rock Island, IL). I'm not sure if it's in Mojo's or up on the second floor but I think the first one is this Thursday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will occur on the first Thursday hereafter. Mike Romkey can you verify and elaborate, please?
It's confirmed and called Mandolin Cafe @ Mojo's the 1st Thursdays of every month. The time I believe is 7:30 start. Mike Romkey is the host. It is to be an informal celebration of mandolin music focusing on bluegrass, celtic and other styles. Players of all experience levels welcome. Guitar players, fiddlers and other musicians also welcome. For information, call Mike, 563-940-0508 or mromkey@mac.com and/or visit the RME website at http://www.rivermusicexperience.org/calendar.php#1813
This session lived a very short life. It died after the first month. Do I hear taps? Or maybe Gounod's Funeral March of the Marionette?
