First heard this song on the Byrds' "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" where Chris Hillman and Gram Parsons replaced Mc Guinn's jingle-jangle Ricky with mando, banjo and pedal-steel. I created my arrangement around a clawhammer version by Dan Levenson, but added some electric guitar for a little Country Rock feeling.
Working on a little bluesy version of this tune...
Very nice work there, GHall, cool bluesy triplets.
Your very relaxed & supple wrist makes for some extraordinary bluesy strumming... well done!
Here's my version, from a while back, originally posted to the Newbies Social Group. The very slowed-down backing track is from "Allstar Bluegrass Jamalong", and any interesting things I might have done were Matt Flinner's ideas. I'm playing a Silverangel like GHall. Howdy!! Tremolo is tough, but one step at a time. I also love constructive criticism. I should have drawn a smiley face on my knee!!
Sounds great!
Thanks for the kind comments, everyone. Awesome job, Bruce! Love those SA mandolins. In fact, I got this one for my daughter three years ago b/c I was so impressed w/the sound of OldSausage's SA!
I think the awesome job was actually in the video posted before mine! She's really pulling the best out of that SA. Looking forward to more from you & your daughter!
