Composed by Todd Silverstein Here is something different. This version came from The Portland Collection book 2 which is a great resource for tunes and the reference for some of the jams at the Winfield, Kansas festival. Mandolin - Weber Bighorn Lead Guitar - Larrivee SD60 Rhythm Guitar - Gibson J45 Studio
Nice one Robert, sounds Italian with the A major instead of A minor. Many thanks again.
Fine piece Robert, superbly played as usual. Too bad, the Portland Collection isn't available as a download...
-what, not even a pdf of The Forest Wedding? Oh that is a shame. I worked it out from Robert’s piece tonight, but tomorrow will I be able to remember it?
Beautiful tune and very well played.
Robert. I really enjoyed this tune, well played and loved the pics.
Simon - I don't know how to add a PDF but here is the abc notation: X:180 T:Forest Wedding C:Todd Silverstein L:1/8 M:6/8 K:F "Dm"D3 D2E | FED D3 | "Gm"G2D G2A | BAG GAB | "A"AA3A_d | e3 e2_d |1 "Dm"dfe dcB | \ "A"AGF ED_D :|2 "Dm"d2f "A"ed_d | "Dm"d2A d2e |] "Dm"f3 f2g | fed d2A | "Gm"B3 B2c | \ BAG G3 | "A"e4ef | g3 g2e | "Dm"fed edc | dcB "A"Ade | "Dm"f3 f2g | fed d2A | \ "Gm"B3 B2c | BAG G3 | "A"e4ed | _d4=de | "Dm"d2f "A"ed_d | "Dm"d3 d3 |] \
.abc’s my favorite, thanks Robert. Here’s the pdf of Robert’s .abc file
I agree with Simon regarding that Italian angle. The pictures are interesting, too - I'd think when sitting under trees the most important thing you'd need is a hat, and balancing on a fallen sequoia is something of a feat.
I like it!
What a great tune, Robert, and fascinating wedding scenario. If you go down to the woods today, you're in for big surprise.... Thanks too for the abc file.
Not sure if we want bears to be like THIS.
