    I first try to play the fiddle parts A and B and then in another B part I play a simplified version of Bill's solo (at about 2/3 his tempo.)

    This is the first time that I have sacrificed clean picking for speed.
    But Bill played a lot of clipped notes too, didn't he?

    Well I'm not knowledgeable about bluegrass mandolin, but I don't hear anything wrong with your picking, it sounds good to me! You have a good confident playing style that projects a nice energy into the music.
