This week we had a tie, so I'm casting the tie-breaker for Tommy Cohen's Reel AKA Cottage in the Grove. I'm not familiar with this tune.

Here's a link to this tune on thesession.org where it say's it's also known as Sean Ryan's.

Here is a link to what they call Cohen's Memories on thesession.org
where they say it's also known as The Cottage In The Glen, Cottage In The Grove, The Cottage In The Grove, The Crosses Of Annagh, Joe Bane’s, Paddy Canny’s, Pink Bog, Tommy Coen’s, Tommy Coen’s Memories.

I haven't compared these two links to see if they are the same tune!

Most of the You Tube Videos seem to have this tune included in medleys.

Tommy Coen (1910-1974), the East Galway fiddler to whom this reel is attributed, also wrote the better known "Old Christmas Eve." So I thought I'd make a set of the two tunes. Played on a Breedlove Cascade and accompanied on a Terry McGee flute.

    Love Jill's banjo picking.
Great picking Francis... and at a mere 17 your mandolin is just getting broken in! (Any time is a good time for a another mandolin however!!!)
