Adapted from the Katims-edited International Edition for viola. Very convenient on the 10-string.

Nice, indeed! When you say it's "very convenient on the 10-string," does it mean it's not convenient on a regular 8-string? Isn't it written for a 4-string instrument originally (cello)?

    Thanks.

The consensus is the 6th Suite was written for a 5-string cello, although we lack original manuscript for the cello suites as a group. The suite is very challenging on cello or viola, without an E string, since the notes go up pretty high.

Love this tune! I play this in a version for violin on the mandolin. GREAT!
