Tenebre Infinite

I've just recorded the next in my occasional series of Italian tune: this one is "Tenebre infinite" (or "Tenebre infinita" depending on where one looks).

This tune was written by Lawrence Andrini (1908-74), a member of The Andrini Brothers, a major touring circuit draw from the 1920s to the 1970s. I first heard it in the recording by Matteo Casserini on his album "Silent Fountain" (available as free download from www.brucezweig.com) and have played it from Sheri Mignano's book "Mandolin Melodies" where it is listed as a rhumba. Thanks, Bruce and Sheri!

Also recorded by The Hot Frittatas (whose mandolin player Gus Garelick is a member of this Group...).

Played on my Ceccherini bowlback mandolin and tenor guitar. In keeping with the title, I have used stills from film noirs (Italian as well as American ones) for the video.
