Okay (again) I know this is elsewhere on the board, but this is specific to our part of the country. May 15-17 2009 Bluegrass From The Forest Shelton, WA Featuring: * Grasstowne * Runaway Train * Great Northern Planes * Stay Tuned (with some dude named Mandopete) * Smalltowne * Dewgrass * Gold Creek Station Hope to see you there!
Gonna miss it this year, but have a blast!
Hi everybody, We will be there all day Saturday starting with the workshops, mando tasting and ending with the shows. I'm not sure if I'm setting up a table yet but I guess I better figure that out soon.
Excellent - I will see you there! When is the mando tasting?
Great one-day bluegrass festival.... Saturday May 23rd NW Folklife Bluegrass Showcase Comcast Mural Amphitheater Stage 12:00 to 3:00 - Stay Tuned - Captain Gravel - Ida Viper - The Downtown Mountain Boys - Northern Departure (come and heckle Chris!)
ahahahah, very funny. Don't worry, I can take it! Which means I can dish it out....so watch out Out Of Tune band! That'll be a really fun show! And the mayor of Seattle might be forced to listen a bit! He gives a speech at 3:15, same stage.
Hey there, I'd rather be out of tune than departed bro! Yeah, we're gonna dedicate Highway 99 to Greg Nickels.
I look forward to Departing after our sets man! I usually need a nap!
Nice performances by all the bands at the NW Forklift Fester. I just wish they would get a soindman that understands acoustic instruments <grin>. Hey what's next - Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival anyone?
Yeah, that sound was brutal. But thats what happens at Folklife, but the fun of it all makes up for it! Great job to everybody involved with the BG! I'll be at Wenatchee, just a watching and a pickin!
Chris - you should enter the guitar contest at WRB. Nick won it last year, but I think you could blow him away!
Yeah man, I;d love to enter. And yes, I can outpick Nick anyday. :p buuut...word through the grape is, my friend Jake Dewhirst might be in on it this year... which don't bode well for anyone!
Go for it - we need a guitar shoot out!
anybody cruising over to the Tri-Cities for the Sacajawea BG fest? I'm making the drive, for good or bad.
I'll be there with Greg, Nolan, Tab, and John
I'll be there hanging out with Banjoboy....
see you dudes there....I'll just keep my ears open for some "Blue Night"...and I'll know where to go!
Everybody had a great time at Sacajawea. Hanging out with Banjoboy, Mandoboy, and Sequence-your-pentatonics-boy was quite a treat. Now its off to Wenatchee!!!
Sequence-your-pentatonics-boy ?
Have any of you guys/gals been to the Pt. Townsend Blues Festival? I'm thinking of going for the mando workshops but wondering if it's worthwhile. It's a bit pricey and information is scarce. Thanks in advance! - Dave
Pete, ask Nolan about that next time you see him, its a long, painful, but funny story! ;-)
Okay - you going to WRBF Chris?
I'll be there...hopefully thursday. But definatley Friday.
Yeah I have gigs on both Saturday night and Sunday night - so no visit to Cashmere this year for me. Give 'em hell Chris!
aww dang! I had my heart on playing a tune with you Pete! we'll have to hook up soon. (ps, leaving for europe most of july) so see you afterwards!
Have a great trip, what countries are you visiting?
Who won the guitar?
jake dewhirst
Is that the guy from Dewgrass?
yup, Jake was smokin'. The best man won, that is for sure. But that sure was a fun competition. Anyway, besides that, it was an awesome festival, but what takes the cake is the sign: "Where's Pete?" on the reader board....
Pete who? Hey come on over to the Yakima Forklift, I mean Folklife Festival. I'm sure we can get some pickin' in!
I'll be in Finland at the time...but y'all have fun!
Finland? That ain't no a part a nothin'
It'll be a part of somehting when I unleash the Bluegrass on them! hoo ha!!!
