Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
Returning to Mandolin Mondays this week, we have the great Frank Solivan and his 2001 Michael Lewis mandolin with us to play this blazing tune "Scorchin' the Gravy" off of his brand new Dirty Kitchen record Hold On.

Frank is a mandolinist who needs no introduction here. His contributions to the mandolin and bluegrass communities as a player, singer, and band leader have resulted in such acclaim as multiple Grammy-nominations and IBMA Awards. And now Frank & Dirty Kitchen have just released their brand new album Hold On with Compass Records--an exciting release well worth a listen. Be sure to check it out here: https://store.compassrecords.com/products/hold-on

Here's a word from Frank about this video, "My band just re-recorded this tune on our new release, Hold On. It was the first tune we all played together before we were even a band. I previously recorded it on a solo project called Selfish Tears around 2005. I’m playing my 2001 Michael Lewis mandolin. Brazilian rosewood sides and back, Englemann spruce top, bound f-holes and silver wire outlined inlays. D’Addario nickel bronze strings 11.5-41 and a ToneSlabs 1.4mm Tri plectrum."

And you can check out the ToneSlabs picks that Frank and David Welch design make and use over on their website here: https://toneslabs.com/
