This week on Mandolin Mondays we have the Appalachian Mandolin Trio with us to play their entertaining rendition of the Cannonball Adderley tune "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" from their forthcoming new record Let's Swaaaaaaang!



The Appalachian Mandolin Trio is an ensemble based in North Carolina. After releasing their debut album Live in Blowing Rock, the Trio is now tackling swing style with mandolin family instruments on their new project, Let's Swaaaaaaang! This western and swing based album features a more "song-like" format than their first jazz based album, and was recorded in a studio setting in Asheville, NC. The album also showcases the vocals of all three mandolin players; Nicholas Dauphinais, Robert Thornhill, and Ben Parker. While adding this layer of complexity, the focus is still centered on the arrangement of mandolin parts and solos.

Mandolins used on this video include a Kimble A, Dearstone F-5, and Ellis F5 Reserve.
