Meet Baptiste Cardineau, an impressive, up-and-coming mandolinist based in Montreal, Quebec. He plays and sings with The Red Chair Snappers, and he's a great tune writer to boot. Here's an original tune of Baptiste's played on his sweet Turkey Creek A-Style mandolin.
Baptiste Cardineau is a 21 year old originally from Boulder, Colorado. He now plays mandolin and sings in the Montreal-based bluegrass band the Red Chair Snappers. Over the past couple years, he has been playing and touring with RCS in Canada and the US full time for a couple years. Stay tuned for their forthcoming record to be released in 2021.
While touring is on hold during the pandemic, Baptiste is teaching online lessons. He's also offering a free copy of the transcription for this video. Just contact him through his Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/jbcardineaumusic
Here's a word from Baptiste about the mandolin in this video, "The mando is a Turkey Creek A style #107 that was built by Brad van Loenen in Morrison, Colorado. It’s Adirondack Spruce on top and the back and sides are this trippy quilted maple. Also the saddle piece is a repurposed Steinway piano key from the 1930’s"
