Mandolin Mondays #163 w/ Special Guest Ray Legere

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
New Brunswick mandolin extraordinaire Ray Legere is on Mandolin Mondays this week with an exciting original tune played on his 1986 Nugget A style mandolin.

Ray is one of Canada's hidden treasures of the acoustic music scene. Over the years, he has played with many of the great North American bluegrass players, including legends like Tony Rice, David Grisman, and Doc Watson. He even filled in for Bill Monroe when Monroe took ill before a concert.

These days he tours and records full time from his home in New Brunswick. He also fronts his own bluegrass band the Acoustic Horizon.

And as always, tune in next week for more Mandolin Mondays! Until then...

Happy Picking!
David

Well, gonna be a busy week learning every...single...note Ray just played. Better get started. Gonna have to use some “sick days” to get out of work.

Interesting timing. Just saw a YTube video of this guy playing Temperance Reel, & was really impressed. Some how he has never been on my play list. Certainly is now!
