Italian mandolin maestro Martino Coppo of the band Red Wine, brings us a lovely original tune cowritten with the one-and-only Mike Marshall played on Martino's powerful 2016 Corrado Giacomel J5 model.
Martino is one of the front runners of acoustic music in Europe. Over the years, he's made numerous collaborations with Italian and American artists such as Tony Trischka, Peter Rowan, Beppe Gambetta, Carlo Aonzo, Jim Hurst, Russ Barenberg, Mike Marshall, and especially with the genoese blues guitar player Paolo Bonfanti, with whom in 2014 published the CD “Friend of a Friend.” Check it out here: https://www.amazon.it/Friend-Martino.../dp/B00YHY7292
He also fronts the Italian bluegrass band Red Wine--one of the most important European bluegrass bands. They've been active since 1978 and played all over Europe, participating in major international festivals and holding concerts in Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Holland, Czech Republic and Austria. Here's Martino with a word about the video, "This is an original tune I cowrote and recorded with Mike Marshall for a solo project of mine, which has not been released yet. The name of the tune is "Esterina" and it's dedicated to my sweet wife Ester. I am playing here a 2016 Corrado Giacomel J5 model. Corrado is a good friend and his shop is about 10 minutes walking distance from my home in Genova."
Martino has made a transcription of this tune, and you can email me through my website for a free copy: https://www.davidbenedictmusic.com/contact/
