Massimo has had his hand in the Italian acoustic music scene for over 40 years. Since the start of his band Bluegrass Stuff in 1977, he's gone on to pioneer many other musical endeavors including his work with Kujacoustic, The Impossible String Consort, Claudio Sanfilippo e ilzendelswing, and others. Of Massimo, the one and only David Grisman says, "Massimo Gatti is one of the new breed of mandolin player all over the world who is re-reinventing mandolin music and I congratulate him." You can read more about Massimo in this interview he did with Mandozine a while back: http://www.mandozine.com/media/CGOW/gatti.html
Massimo gives the back story to the music in this video here, "A very sweet tune that I dedicate to my lovely partner Sara that uses to be a Flight Assistant. Sara's nickname was Wolke that means Cloud in German language. By the way Nuvole in Italian means Clouds. I wrote the first part of the tune on a night in May in 2013 while I was in Denmark thinking about Sara! The second part comes several months later of the same year.
I recorded this tune recently with Kujacoustic an acoustic trio I play with for our new CD Inniņ (in nessun dove) that will be out the next year. We recorded also a video in the garden of my house the last October (links below).
I used a Giacomel J5 custom mandolin black face (the only one) with a custom peghead inlay designed by Sara that Corrado built for me on December 2015."
