Mandolin Mondays #136: The great UK multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Carrivick sends us a lovely chord melody arrangement of an old swing number played on her amazing mandolin built by Czech luthier Eduard Krištůfek.

Charlotte has been at the head of the UK bluegrass and acoustic music scene for some time now. Though guitar is her main instrument, she is talented at everything from mandolin to trumpet. She's a core part of several successful UK bands including the Carrivick Sisters, Cardboard Fox, and most recently the bluegrass band Midnight Skyracer. Their exciting new record Fire is available here: http://midnightskyracer.com/shop.html

Here's the inside scoop from Charlotte about this song and mandolin in the video, "The tune is I Can't See For Lookin' (Robinson/Stanford): a relatively obscure song but a particular favorite of mine. There are some great versions by the Nat King Cole Trio, Kenny Burrell and Red Garland. The mandolin is a 2007 Telluride model F5 made by a Czech maker, Eduard Kristufek."

Charlotte is offering a tablature/notation transcription of this video for those interested. Inquire here: ccarrivick@gmail.com
