Mandolin Mondays #92: Jazz mandolin virtuoso, Jason Anick joins Mandolin Mondays this week with a beautiful original composition on his incredible 5-string "jazzbo" electric mandolin from Paul Lestock.
Based in Boston, Jason Anick is taking the jazz world by storm with his progressive and tasteful violin and mandolin playing. He's one of the youngest people to ever teach at the Berklee College of music. When he's not teaching he's out on the road as front man for the acclaimed gypsy jazz band, Future Rhythm Quartet. Their new record, Travels, features a host of original tunes and creative covers that push the preconceived boundaries of the genre. Check it out here: https://jasonanick.bandcamp.com/album/travels
The composition in this video is an original piece written in honor of the great mandolinist John McGann, head of the American Roots program at the Berklee College of Music.
