    American Banjo Camp Announced Inaugural Mandolin Program

    Port Orchard, Wash. — American Banjo Camp, September 5 - 8, 2019, has announced their first full-time mandolin program for 2019 with principal mandolin instructor Frank Solivan from the renowned bluegrass touring band Dirty Kitchen as lead faculty member.

    Frank will teach seven classes at the event on such topics as mapping the fingerboard, rhythm techniques, developing speed, cross-picking, playing fiddle tunes, playing with drive, and much more; two additional mandolin classes will be taught by multi-instrumentalist Peter Langston.

    Instruction level is intermediate and up. Also featured at the camp are four levels of instruction in bluegrass and old-time banjo, plus full-time programs in guitar and fiddle.

    American Banjo Camp held its first session on the weekend of September 5 - 7, 2003 at Fort Flagler State Park on Marrowstone Island in the Puget Sound. It was a big success! Every year since then, on the weekend following Labor Day the camp has been held at Fort Flagler. American Banjo Camp thrives on the enthusiasm and cooperation of all its attendees.
