18th Century Mandolin Duets of Jean-Baptiste Miroglio

Fenton, Mo. — Mel Bay Publications has announced the publication 18th Century Mandolin Duets of Jean-Baptiste Miroglio, by Barry Trott, available in print and download.

Eighteenth century France was the center of mandolin composition in Europe, especially of mandolin music for amateurs. Jean-Baptiste Miroglio's Suites des Amusemens des Dames are typical of mandolin duets of this time — challenging, but not too difficult, while rich in feeling and musicality.

Intended for mandolin, violin or pardessus de viol, these pieces provide a delightful introduction to the musical life of the 18th century mandolin. Novice to expert players will find something to enjoy and explore in this collection of 21 pieces for two mandolins.

The music is presented in standard notation only, 36 pages, saddle stitch binding.
