New Music from Isaac Eicher - Native Language

Nashville, Tenn. — Nashville-based mandolinist Isaac Eicher has announced the release of his first solo recording entitled Native Language, now available for pre-order.

A two-time Walnut Valley Mandolin Contest winner, Eicher hails from a musically prominent family based in Oklahoma that includes his father, noted master fiddler and mandolinist of many progressive styles, Shelby Eicher.

About the release of his first solo recording, Eicher told us, "This album has many influences. Not only is it a culmination of studying the mandolin and different music styles over the last 17 years, but it has undoubtedly been shaped by my other life experiences, such as the time I have spent in Spain and Mexico and learning to speak Spanish.

"I had wanted to do my own project for a long time, but it wasn’t until moving to Nashville that I started to hone my sound and feel ready to show it to the world. The album is mostly my original material, which was an important decision in the process of getting the project up and running.

"Instead of just playing swing, salsa, samba, or any other style that I dig, my originals were written completely with my approach to the mandolin and for my voice on the instrument. And while we always strive for good tone and timing, etc., I believe we took it one step further and created a cohesive album from top to bottom. Enjoy!"
