    Kerrville, Tx. — Registration is open for the 2019 Hill Country Acoustic Music Camp (HCAMP), to be held on Friday, February 15-17, 2019 at Mt. Wesley Conference Center.

    HCAMP offers three days of classes and jams for all levels of adult musicians wanting to improve on banjo, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, voice, and songwriting.

    Bob Miller, Director of HCAMP told us, "Classes are taught by world-class instructors in a non-judgmental atmosphere. HCAMP is designed to provide both playing instruction and experience performing with other musicians. Styles include bluegrass, country, roots, Celtic, and old-time music.

    "The whole point of this camp to provide a joyful environment where adults can improve their instrument skills, improve playing in a group with other instruments, play new music, make friends, and just have some fun," Miller said.

    Goals of Hill Country Acoustic Music Camp

    • Improve each student's playing techniques and skills
    • Gain experience playing with other musicians

    • Send every camper home with new material to work on
    • Have a fun getaway for the family

    Mt. Wesley Conference Center is located at 610 Methodist Encampment Rd., Kerrville, Texas. Meal plans and onsite rooms, cabins, and RV slots available, or campers can make other accommodations on their own.

    Kerrville and the surrounding Texas Hill Country offers shopping, history, museums, outdoor recreation, site-seeing, restaurants, wineries, and other family activities.

      Really disappointed to learn this. Did the organizers say why? Hoping Bob and family are OK.

      I did have a discussion with the organizer. Don't think it's for us to discuss at length in public but not hard to guess that a combination of enrollment numbers and the amount of work involved. As someone that ran a large mandolin festival for 14 years that was a labor of love, we understand.
