    Alan Bibey Mandolin Camp 2018

    Surfside Beach S.C. — Mandolinists will gather here August 22-24, 2018 when the Annual Alan Bibey Mandolin Camp at Ocean Lakes Campground is held in conjunction with the Ocean Lakes Bluegrass Festival.

    Lodging for the Camp is good through the weekend so you can stay for the festival and see Alan Bibey & Grasstowne, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, IIIrd Tyme Out, Balsam Range and many more.

    Instructors include Alan Bibey, Don Stiernberg and Emory Lester. Master Luthier Jonathan McClanahan will be in attendance and mandolinist Ralph McGee will lead slow jams as well as other instruction.

    Registration

    Camp registration is $500 which includes:

    Ocean Lakes Campground is close to many attractions the Grand Strand has to offer including shopping, amusement parks, and the campground is located on the beach! These are just some of the many things a guest may choose to do (if you choose to bring one) while you're in class or jamming.

    Guests can be included for an additional fee of $200.

      Btw, don't let the "campground" in the name fool you, the lodging is in very nice houses just a short walk from the beach!

      Aw yeah, it's almost AB Camp time! Most exciting event all year and a camp that should be on everyone's radar. Just look at that instructor list! Get your brain and fingers ready for some serious jamming.

      I'm digging this year's logo. Very appropriately beachy. And that "The Bibey" headstock...Hmmm.

      It is a well kept secret and yall are letting the cat out of the bag. Beach, August, great housing, great lead and instructors, and a pretty good assortment of participants. Oh yeah, this Ralph guy, yall heard him? He real good too.
