First Annual Peghead Nation Mandolin Camp Announced

Fairfax, Calif. — Peghead Nation, the home of roots music instruction, gear, and news for players of guitar, mandolin, banjo, dobro, fiddle, bass, and ukulele has announced their First Annual Mandolin Camp featuring John Reischman, Sharon Gilchrist and Joe K. Walsh to be held October 19-22 in the Kowana Valley Folk School and Lodge just outside Yosemite National Park.

Over the course of this special weekend, Peghead Nation's mandolin instructors will lead you through immersive sessions focusing on improving your mandolin technique, developing your repertoire, and honing your overall musicianship.

Students will select their skill level and will rotate through sessions with John, Sharon, and Joe, in order to have focused time with each experienced instructor.

In addition, Peghead Nation co-founder and guitar instructor Scott Nygaard will be on hand to teach group guitar sessions for those interested in learning guitar. Campers wil be treated to faculty concerts and have an opportunity to perform in student concerts.

Only 25 Camp spaces will be granted and the camp is partially full at this time. As a sell-out is anticipated, reservations are strongly suggested at this time in order to secure a spot.

Nestled in a beautiful valley just outside Yosemite National Park, the Kowana Valley Folk School and Lodge is the perfect place to strip away distractions and focus on your playing. Its 300 acres are crossed by Sierra streams, forested hiking trails, and open alpine meadows, providing an ideal environment for studying with these amazing instructors and learning with your fellow students. Students can stay in the Lodge's private and semi-private housing, or to enjoy the outdoors by camping on-site.
