Norton, Va. — Thomas Cassell has announced the release of his first recording of mandolin music, an EP entitled Mellifluous.
Cassell, based in Norton, Virginia, is a young and upcoming mandolinist with a bright future as evidenced by his selection to attend Mike Marshall's prestigious Acoustic Music Seminar, an invitation only experience held during the Savannah Music Festival which includes many acoustic music stars among their graduates.
Asked about the recording and his future plans, the 18-year-old told us, "This is my first recording that I've done. I plan on doing a full length album in the next year or two. I'm planning on studying Bluegrass music at East Tennessee State University. One thing I would like to say is that all of the work I was able to do with the instructors and students at the Savannah Acoustic Music Seminar really helped me know how to put this together on my own."
