Love a good march on the mandolin! Wonderful composition and playing! Thanks for sharing!
Lovely playing!
Fine playing. And what a mandolin!
That's some tasty chicken right there...
Bostin!
Your music is wonderful Ian!
Wow! That piece moves right along! Beautiful composition and playing.
Bravo!!! Absolutely beautiful! FULL of Joy!!! Thanks for sharing!
Love it! I've been trying to learn this with the help of a tool I made called LoopTube, which lets me set a looping segment and slow it right down. Thought I'd share the link as it might help others to practice and learn... https://www.looptube.xyz/?vid=B2qK6p...96828992370605
A very good player. He gets a beautiful sound from his mandolin.
I detect a quote or two in there from Brillancy, no? Smart music. Thanks as always for bringing these folks into the mix.
Beautiful! Just bought a copy of the album. I've also been enjoying the Safe Harbor collaboration with Baron Collins-Hill.
Great tune - coincidentally I had a shot at transcribing it a few days ago https://thesession.org/tunes/23489
Exceptional playing - touch, tone and feeling. Beautiful.
That's bostin, that is, David - and big congrats on 400 and the beautiful '23 snakehead, too!
One of the things I like about your playing here is the lack of craziness. A minimum of finger movement, no finger busting, or long reaches, no huge flying blind shifts up the neck. To the casual observer (not any of us mind you) it all just looks reasonable. Great job.
Very nice tone and playing! I think that is a special Gibson snakehead.
Congrats on 400! Wow. Thanks for all those Mandolin Mondays, and for the beautiful rendition of the Bach Prelude.
Congratulations, David!
What a sweet-sounding Mandolin Monday— this makes my day! Thanks,David!
1. great "song selection" 2. very well played! 3. very nice mandolin with a teriffic sound 4. nice camera work (by whom?) and overall video (including the sound department) 5. teriffic idea, this Mandolin Monday; it is a No 1 resource to get to know the instrument its potential and their protagonists. Not only is this a labor of love but it pays off for anyone who is interested in this instrument and the music it can make. 6. Chapeau and cheers for the next 8 years
Sounds great, David. What strings do you have on that snakehead?
Well done, David. I agree with you, I love playing Bach pieces on my vintage Gibson ovals. The sound is so engaging. Joe B
Delightful sound on this one - thanks David.
Congratulations on hitting 400, David. Fantastic achievement that has done an amazing job of capturing & preserving Mandolin history. And celebrating with such a gorgeous piece of music, beautifully played as well. Can't wait to see what you do for the 500th edition
What a lovely melody played with great feeling. Thanks.
Beautiful. Thank you.
That was so good, I love this style of music.
Very nice. I do enjoy Ward's playing, particularly with Siger.
Lovely!
Lovely tune, beautifully delivered. Regards,
Wonderful playing and a wonderful instrument. I've never encountered a Shippey here in the US but I hope to someday. Love the sound. Thanks!
Simply beautiful tune and exquisite playing. The Shippey is a gorgeous instrument.
Nice tune and recording.
This brought tears to my eyes, having just lost my Mom. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this!
Nice music, and all mandolins! What could be better? Nice to see Owen lending a hand to this latest project.
Great picking! What timing, they are in my town (Omaha, NE) tomorrow and my band is opening for them...
What a mandolin player and what a mandolin!
KOOL tune indeed!
Smokin!
That would be a hard, Yeah !!!
Very nice playing.
Great playing! One more edit for David's entry, though; it's not a Brock, it's a Nova (named after my oldest daughter). Built along with it's black topped sister in 2018 in Longmont, CO.
Sounded just as nice the fourth time through.

Fine effort! That Brock octave really shines.
Nice way to start the week!
