Hey guys! I'm back this week with a recording of a favorite tune composed by Ben Wendel, the amazing (Grammy winning) saxophone player/composer. This tune, titled "October" was originally performed as a duet between Wendel and jazz guitarist Gilad Hekselman. I'm absolutely in love with it and I hope you enjoy my rendition. Also, stay tuned for some more jazz mandolin content coming in early April!

Hey guys! I couldn't resist doing another song from the new Zelda game. This one is more of a Django type waltz, so you may enjoy. Next week though, I'm coming back with a tune written by Ben Wendel, an absolutely amazing saxophone player and composer.
Hyello. This week I put together a minimalist arrangement of a song from one of my favorite game franchises ever. I always include a section of improv so of course I took a chorus over it. Next week I'll be back with a combination of a Django song and another. See you then!
Two weeks until I'm back with more jazz content. This week I did an arrangement of a song from a favorite animated show. It's a bit folky.
Here is this week's cover! It's a mandolin/guitar arrangement of the title theme from one of my favorite games as a kid. I always dug the minimalistic tendency of this soundtrack. In other news! I just finished recording a jazz record with bassist Michael Gurrola. I'll be posting some material from it as soon as we put a video together.
Hey guys! I forgot to post last Friday's cover here. This is the closing theme to BoJack Horseman, the animated show. The next couple of weeks I'm doing a few more video game themes, but look forward to some more jazz videos in a month or so!
Hey guys! This week I decided to tackle some Coltrane licks. Hope you enjoy. Say hello! http://www.twitter.com/alexheflin http://www.youtube.com/c/alexheflin http://www.alexheflin.com/

I am writing this entry to simply share my website with all of you. I would love to have more people contributing with comments, videos, and links of their very own. http://www.jakecohan.com The domain name is a little self serving, but trust me this site is by no means all about me. I want it to be a small community, and for like minded people, the more the merrier. My site contains content of my own, as well as links to what I consider to be the best music ...
