Yes! A great bit of playing there. It is so nice to see traditional Irish tunes played so that the melody shines and the musician is not the 'center of attention'. (By 'showing off with variations far from the melody, for example.) Which makes Luke all the better musician. IMHO

Roland, I've always enjoyed listening to the way you play Soldier's Joy. Also, it's been really great to see the Roland White Band performances at the Frankfort IL Bluegrass Festival!

Hey Roland, I was so glad to be able to have another brief encounter with you this past summer at The Station Inn. They've been few and far between but always memorable.

    Love from Canada,

A legend is in the house! Welcome, Roland White. Wow, from the Kentucky Colonels to Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys to today's Roland White Band, one of our favorites.

Still one of the top interviews ever on the Cafe I think. Amazing content:

Welcome, Andrew. Love your playing and especially love the new mandolin album. Looking forward to the new Mandolin Orange release in early 2019.

For those of you that may have missed the feature interview with Andrew last month put together for us by Michael Eck, here it is:

Dude. Very nice rendition! I listened to this, then listened to Jethro doing it on The Puritan Sessions, then listened to this one again - twice! Really enjoyed what you've done with it. Great to see that MT2 will have the opportunity to achieve its full potential.

    Aleikhem Shalom Dave*

Finally a klezmer tune on Mandolin Mondays. Bluegrass-ified version and I can't dance to it. But a nod to the great klezmer genre none the less.

aleikhem is a spoken greeting in Hebrew, meaning "peace be upon you." The appropriate response is aleikhem shalom

Jaaaakkkeeeee! Glad to see you here. You're sounding great as ever.

Funny story. 3-4 months ago I was in Brooklyn (no, I don't live there) on the train. It stops, young guy with a man bun and a Calton case gets on, sits across from me. I walk over and sit down next to him, he looks at me funny, as he should have. I say, "hey man, you played your first out of state gig in Lawrence, KS when you were in high school, brought there by Ken Cartwright and didn't even get paid for it." Had not seen him in person since. We had 6-7 station stops to catch up before I exited.

We have someone (ahem) working, albeit slowly, towards a feature interview with Jake we hope to see in our mailbox in the future.
