I just got back from a great week up north working on a project at The Metropolitain Museum of Art and wanted to pass on a great new collection they have on display.
Remember the beautiful vintage Gibson mandolin orchestra instruments that Tim May and Dave Harvey used to do some fantastic workshops with? The MET acquired the whole thing and now have it on display in the musical instrument gallery, and there will likely be some future performances showcasing the whole collection- mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, guitars, and mandobass. It is a beautiful addition to one of the greatest collections of art covering the history of humanity. Here is a little clip of Tim and Dave Harvey showing them off and giving a fine performance:
