Apologies if this has been posted before and apologies if it's restricted to Australian viewing only - but here is a really great 10 min TV story on Steve's new house made with traditional building methods (and a fair bit of Mandolin making and playing), enjoy:

Great video, What a gorgeous place to live and build some of the best mandolins out there. Steve truly is a grand artist craftsmen in the old style.

I watched it back when it was first posted, but I enjoyed watching it again--twice! Some nice shots of the 671+ batch there being made as well. Beautiful site, and I bet the house was beautiful when it was finished.

It inspired me to check out Lake Gnotuk on both Google Earth and on Bing to see if I could see the house after completion. Resolution is better on Bing, but the area was so arid at the time the images were taken that it's hard to recognize the place. Could be that both predate the construction of the house--I couldn't pick out Steve's place on either.

How cool would it to be to have these views from your workplace?
