The pictures seem to be a bit more orange then it really is. The top is Red Spruce and the back, sides and neck are Western Big leaf maple. Carbon fiber truss rod, Schaller tuners, custom tailpiece, tonebar constructed and dovetail neck joint.
What you think?

the whole package is beautiful keith, but what always gets me about your mandos are the rich colors. you have the knack for bringing out the wood and then enhancing. another great job!

Beautiful, Keith. I like the headstock design you are using. I guess you've moved around among several different approachs (?), but I like this one. That's a very nice instrument. Are these custom orders or for stock?

The back is quartersawn and one piece. I have 2 A styles done and will get pictures of the second one. One of the two is spoken for but not sure which one they want until later this week.

oooh yeah... and the more I play it the more it changes. It seems to go in stages on opening up. Just tonight it seemed to develop a fuller bottom end sound. I didnt need the rubber grommets between the strings at first but now it has so many tones going on I have to knock a few back.
What is interesting is the type of sound this one and the other A style made at the same time have. This one is Red spruce and the other was Sitka.

Brilliant work as usual Keith. Of course I am kind of biased towards those types of color schemes as you can tell by my mandolin. I still want to get my hands on one of yours though!
