View Full Version : What gig bags fit a Schwab?

When I bought my Schwab, it came with a Calzone road case that, along with the cockroaches, would probably be all that was left after the big ones dropped. It's great, but it's huge, and when I'm carrying around my rack and guitar, it gets in the way.

Those of you who have Schwabs (or similar sized/shaped emandos), what gigbags or cases do you use that you might recommend? And where'd you get 'em?

And now, for your patience, here's a picture of my Schwab:

Nice mandolin, Charlemagne!
A small tennis bag actually works quite well, but...
I also have a little custom made by a now defunct LA company, and a Mooradian bag, from Boston. They may still be in Boston.

I've been considering getting a soft case of some sort for mine, and thought to order it custom from colorado case co. I'd be interested to know about other options, too.

I use a wings mandolin gig bag. Very good bag at a great price. I got mine at a local store. This link was much cheaper.

How about a gig bag from a Breedlove or Tacoma mandolin?

Right now my Bacorn is living in a Ritter Street Pak (http://sharmusic.com/search2.asp?track_search=Y&SKW=ritter+pak&x=0&y=0) from Shar Music. They periodically put these things on sale for less than $20, and at that price they're a good deal.

Absolutely.

Looks about the same size and shape as my Rono, which came in a ProTec case. The ProTec case is too deep, though, and would need to have some foam bolsters inserted to support the body.
