Hello!

I'm new to this forum here and playing mandolin in general and i was just wondering if anybody had the tabs for "a father's first spring" by the avett brothers?

Any help would be great, thank you :)

Here it is at capo 4. If you want to transpose w/o capo just start in B.

Your welcome ?

Anyway, I should thank you as I'd never heard this song before. So I decided to try and learn it. Here is a rough initial take. I'm reading the lyrics and it shows--lots of uncertain weak parts/warts/moles and blemishes so all the usual disclaimers. I simplified the fills and leads for one guitar and laziness. All done through the same mic straight into lap top (apogee interface to garage band). Guitar and vocals done simultaneous and then 2 mando tracks on top (because my mando skills need help) and then a cajon track on top (and I'm not a drummer so you get what you're paying for.

Anyway, I like the song although some of the lyrics seem a bit random. But the original Avett brothers version is waaaay better of course so check theirs out on utube.
