Very nice. Congratulations.

Thank you, I was excited to get it. It compliments my Campanella Dué nicely. I think one of my favorite parts of the design is the seamless transition of the neck going towards the head stock. It's narrow but feels right. I'm on the hunt for a case. A fellow Cafe member recommended a Hiscox. If anyone knows of a universal case that's not a custom build. Please let me know via PM. :)

Just to be clear, the Hiscox (http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/showthread.php?66727-Hiscox-mandolin-case&p=1037938&viewfull=1#post1037938) isn't a custom build.

Have you posted pictures of your new Due' yet?

Larry

Larry, I'm aware of the Hiscox being a standard case. I was using that as a reference to what price range/style I'm looking for.

That's a great looking instrument. I've only played on Giacomel but it was a hoss!

Bobelock Arrow case. Impressive quality for the price.

Don, I did. It's a beauty too. I need to take some photos of it that show off the gold leaf and ink detail that Joe did.

Is this yours? It's from Joe's Twitter feed (https://twitter.com/VTluthier/status/251887442263674880).

Sort of an update to the J3 but I didn't want to start a new thread. I bought a set of Thomastik strings medium tension for it. I've read plenty of reviews about what people say and was a little hesitant to get them. I had J74's on there and was afraid that they'd not be as resonant or versatile. Boy was I wrong. Other than feeling real easy on the fingertips, I find them to work for every genre of music. Their loud with plenty of sustain and they sound great playing chops too. I'll have to raise the action a bit to compensate. I'm sold on them for sure. Now it's time to put some on the Campanella.
