Roger Siminoff's book is listed here a lot.
Others write about a book by "Graham McDonald"
http://www.amazon.com/dp/0980476208.
Maybe check the Stewart-McDonald site too.
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Video,_DVD/Mandolin_building/How_to_Build_a_Carved-Top_Mandolin.html?actn=100101&xst=1&xsr=5148 But at $125.00 for the DVD's :disbelief:

And welcome to the Café. :)

Might want to post a photo of what you received .. there are tons of kits out there, is it acoustic, electric, F style, A style? What level of completion?

If it is the saga kit or similar do a search for "saga mandolin kit instructions". A while back someone posted the instructions on the cafe forum. If you can't find it online then pm me and I can find my PDF Saturday or Sunday. .

It does look like the International Violin F5 kit (http://www.internationalviolin.com/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=MK5). I think those kits do come with the Siminoff book as a manual to complete it.

I think this is one of those ebay RAS kits. The box is already built, I think you just attach the neck...

I would try and contact Reid & Sons and see what they have to say!

Good luck with the neck. I found that drilling an endpin hole in the tailblock and then drilling through the neck block and screwing the neck in place from inside the body was the only way to get the neck to stay on. there was no way for me to do a mortice & tenon since the back is already on the body and there was no dovetail.

I also noticed the instructions did not include neck installation.

Then I hope the OP tells us which kit not to buy. ;)
