Here's a few photos of my latest flat top project. I used California redwood for the top on this one. Red maple for back, sides and neck. This is the first one I made with a redwood top. I've used red spruce, engelmann, and western red cedar previously. I really like the tone.
General Specs:

California Redwood top, red-curly maple back sides and neck, Ebony peghead overlay with gold fleck mother or pearl inlay. EVO gold narrow fretwire. Gold pearl dots on fretboard. Christian fish symbol at base of fretboard. Tuning machines are Grover 309, 18:1 (gold plated), Tailpiece is a Gibson style gold with engraving. This mandolin has been fitted with a quality Cumberland Acoustics, adjustable ebony bridge. The nut is 1 1/8" bleached bone. The dimensions of this mandolin are: Overall length 24 1/2", Body width 9 1/2", Body Depth 1 1/2". The top and back and an induced radius (96"). The scale length is standard mandolin 13 7/8". The neck has an adjustable steel truss rod.
