I loved how different Dempsey sounded from everyone else. Miss him.
I hunted around and found a YT compilation thing of maybe a dozen L&F performances. Many were of the recent band makeup with Scott N, Ron S, Scotty S and Allen. A few were older, with Dempsey, Barry B, Ben G and Allen. One in there was of Dempsey, Gene Parker, Steve Wilson and Allen, doing the fine country-esque number Fourteen Carat Mind. This was vintage L&F, not many exist out there.

I played a show one time that they were on as well. Got to spend a few hours in his company. Great guy and a hell of a picker. At that time he was excited cause they had just met Buck Owens out in california and turns out he was a big lost and found fan. Another thing I remember was the Hutto he was playing had splinters of wood sticking out of the top. A young kid ask him if it was a prewar mandolin. He smiled and said yeah, pre civil war.
