Any sign of a radius fretboard on an Eastman coming up soon? Love to see one on a 515 to keep costs down. How much does a radius raise the price of a mandolin on average? thanks

It looked to me like that two point oval they had at NAMM might have been radiused, but I am not sure. A radius really shouldn't add anything to the price of a mando. A board has to be fitted and planed either way. Luthiers can even buy pre-radiused boards from StewMac for about $20.

I've seen builders offer a radius at no extra charge and I've seen builders charge $150 for it. Go figure. Maybe someone can explain.

Gordon asked me if I'd had a radiused one yet, so I suppose they are out there somewhere! I'll ask him to send one and give it a test.
