I just found this online......

I think I will try to track some down in my area. Has anyone tried this wine?

Monterey county, California , vineyards.. not far from the Sea..

Napa Valley is my former home. north and inland a ways hotter summers..

It's all good .. done a few overnights on the Crush , running the machines,
shoveling seeds and stems, and tanking the juice, cleaning the gear..

I've had this from time to time but have to drive into Missouri to get it which is about 45 minutes away. I don't know if it's still available there because I haven't shopped for it for several years. Haven't had a bottle recently but recall it being a very nice, solid, affordable California wine. Really liked their Cabernet. I should get some again. Fun to have around. Several years ago I believe I traded email with the winery owner. Nice folks.

I think it would be a great gift to any fellow mandolin player-friend.

Check with your local authorities about shipping alcohol, interstate, If it's OK,
I'm sure the winery will be happy to send a Case By UPS ..

We did have one named Mandolina up in Solvang but they changed their name to Tocatta due to the similarity to the Mandolin Winery that was already in business. They have a great label with a mandolin on it.

It's bound to be better than that case of Accordion malt liquor I got suckered into buying a while back...

There are some more mandolin-related drinks labels in this old thread:

My favourite is Flatbac ale from Salford, which I've had before.

On my travels through Virginia this weekend (the Rt 29 Corridor from Charlottesville to Lynchburg, I went by Hamlett Manor (not really just through the town where it's located) and Rebec Vineyards (http://www.rebecwinery.com/). I've had a bottle or two of their wine. It's nice.

Great graphic, Bertram - did you make it? If so, you too could design t-shirts. ;)

That's one scenario where only an F-style would do! (Perhaps the only such scenario I can think of...) Also love the backwards bass clef. Nice touch.

For accompaniment, there's a very nice, reasonably priced Spanish red wine -- tempranillo/garnacha blend from Navarra -- called Red Guitar (stylized red guitar on the label).

Naw, just found it. Had I made it, I'd have used Single Malt, not moonshine.

Not so sure about mandolin wine, but there are two mandolin beers out there, one from Blue Mountain Brewery:
103652

and the other from Barrel House:
103653

The true question is whether the Barrel House has a bluegrass bark to it, and if the Blue Mountain has more of an open, Celtic-y sound when poured out of the bottle....

My kids just opened a brewery in NoCali. Not sure I should put a link here ... don't want to violate advertising rules.

The whole family plays some kind of instrument .... this could be fun. They have a great RyePA that goes nicely with rye whiskey .... hmmm, Mandolin Malt, Stand up bass Lager, Guitar string growler, Pennywhistle Pale Ale, Archtop Ale. No, I haven't been at the bottle ... maybe that's my problem with the bad beer names. ;)
