Just noticed that the otiginal tuner buttons on my '60 A-5 are turning brown and starting to crumble. Does anyone sell replacements. I have seen the shite and ivroid at Stew-Mac, but these are slightly translucent, where the Stew-Mac ones are totall opaque.
Any help is appreciated!

I had to replace with the Stew-Mac ivoroids on my '58 A-5. Couldn't find anything else that would fit. The originals just crumbled to pieces in my fingers one day. So it was Stew Mac or tune with a vice-grips.
If you replace with the ivoroids, you'll have to cut the old ones off. The ends are flattened spikes. I heated the ivoroids up on the inside with a skinny soldering iron and then pressed them into place. They look o.k. now. Not original, but the old a-5 was played pretty hard before I got it, so it will never win any beauty contests.
I love the sound though.
