In the 30's Gibson put out a line of instruments marketed as electric banjos. Here's a pic

Wouldn't this instrument be an electric tenor guitar? The only thing that makes it somewhat banjo like is the round shape. Really they could have made it any shape. Any thoughts?

They also made electric tenor guitars. But really, aren't those just electric tenor banjos with a different shape? After all, the tenor banjo was invented a few years before the tenor guitar was.

Hey Phil, if you're looking for something more tenor guitar like check out the Gold Tone electric tenor banjo EM4 (I think). It looks more like a guitar than a banjo to me. I am really close to buying one myself since my K&K equiped open back banjo is a feedback monster. This Gibson is way cool BTW.
