So today I decided to have some fun and plug in my mandolin to my guitar pedal board. Had some fun goofing around for a while, adding a bunch of fx and heavy distortion :mandosmiley:. Kinda wish I still have my pitch pedal, that could have been fun.

Anyways, what I wanted to ask is if there is anybody who uses anything modulation, fx or anything on their mandos? Obviously for most styles that the mandolin is used for that would be out of the question, but I'm still curious to what you guys have to say about it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who tried it!

Wah Wah pedal is a blast with mandolin. I love the way it spices up a fiddle tune.

There is a video of Thile playing through a Pigtronix" (I think) on the YouTube.
I know more of your "heady" pickers use effects;delay & reverb being the two I most readily hear. Although I'm sure lots are used.
I run a very light reverb wash on mine, when the room calls for it.

I often add a bit of chorus and reverb from my Fishman Loudbox to help cut through the mix.

Lately I'm finding that I really like delay and reverb.
