I call it Super Max for the complete distressing it has and a much higher arch on the back of hard sugar maple. Sound is there in my opinion.9964199642996439964499645

Beautiful. I'm not one for distressed instruments generally, but that one is very well done and looks pretty much like natural wear. Nice color too.

I love your work Ken. I really like the shape of the F holes with the much smaller hole at the top of the "f".

Whew, what a looker! More out of curiosity than anything else, is that one going up for sale at all?

Pictures, even good pictures, barely do these justice. You really have to see, and feel them, close up. The "authenticity" and detail of the distressing is quite incredible, and they don't just look old, they FEEL old. They're very light..very responsive, and have a really distinctive voice. Also, the quality of the woods used is absolutely fantastic. Even if you have other great mandolins, these are so unique and beautiful that they're something you'll want to hold on to.

I really appreciate everyone's comments on my work, that means more to me than anything. This one is leaving the shop today to a very good player about 19 years old, Chaston Carroll. He's really advanced in his playing in the past 4 years. This is his second Silverangel.

Brilliant work Ken. She is one of a helluva of a mandolin. You really like to create some artistic flair with your 'distressed' mandolins. Personally, I think your 'undistressed' mandolins are just as great, like my Silverangel A mandolin, which through use will become distressed of course.

I keep coming back to this thread and looking at these pictures, I typically prefer to distress instruments myself...
But this is unreal!

Must not listen to sound clips - serious MAS flareup coming on!
