In preparation for tonight's Mandolin Mashup with Mike Marshall one of the participants mentioned they were from Memphis and I mentioned the remarkable orchestra they had at one time. Thought all of you would enjoy these images and possibly someone may be looking for information related to the group. Amazing that some prominent in the group are identified by name.
The conductor is fairly well known in mandolin circles for having what was known as the "Twin" Loar mandolins (or "the twins"), consecutively numbered I believe. I have a picture of Ricky Skaggs holding them as he once owned them but they've subsequently been sold. He insisted they remain together. Good man! P.S. Ricky sent all of these photos to me. Believe they came with the twins.
