I was bored and needed something to keep me from smoking... Here's the result! Pine frame and leather padding where the mandolin touches the stand.

I like! I think I'd be much more comfortable with my new mando on something like this instead of the standard metal and whatever that stuff is that serves for padding.

Thanks folks.
It's fairly basic but quite sturdy. I toyed with the idea of padding with fabric, but then I figured leather would be as safe as can be!
I'm now thinking I might try for another type more like this:
